Reacting to negative publicity

How to deal with corporate donors when your nonprofit receives negative publicity

February 11th, 2021  |  Noon – 1:30pm

Speaker: Moderated by Joy Stephens, Kevin Henry and a Public Relations specialist.

Description: There has been negative publicity involving multiple medical entities in the news lately. We will dissect these stories and then discuss how best to respond to negative press in order to retain your corporate donors.

Did you read the article in Crosscut about Dr. Danielson leaving Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic? If not, here you go.

There is a lot to unpack here. Why it is important for your nonprofit organization to have Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DEI) programs and training in place at all levels AND how do you handle negative publicity so that you retain your corporate donors? If they stay, the individual donors will be less likely to leave.

This conversation will be moderated by Kevin P. Henry, DEI coordinator at Sound (formerly Sound Mental Health) and a public relations subject matter expert.

Date: Thursday February 11th, 2021 from noon until 1:30 pm

Location: Virtual Zoom Meeting.

Format: The first hour is the presentation, the next 30 minutes is networking in chat rooms.

Register: Free to those who purchased the Conference 2020 & Learning@Lunch packet; $20 to others

Contact: Joy Stephens (425.653.1575 or joy@o2joyent.com) for more information or for sponsorship opportunities.
