Comcast Takes Strategic Approach to Nonprofit Support

In the Goodwill training facility in south Seattle, on the same block as the largest Goodwill in the country, on a lunch break in mid-September of this year, Comcast NBCUniversal Director of Community Investment and External Affairs Diem Ly stood before one hundred representatives of local nonprofits. This elevational speaking event is called Learning@Lunch put on by the Corporate Giving Network, operated by Joy Stephens of o 2 joy. The Learning@Lunch intends to bring nonprofits together to best understand the landscape of how companies invest in their organizations with the aim to improve our communities.

Columbia Tower Club Nonprofit Mixer
/in News /by Joy StephensOn October 4th, 2017 the Columbia Tower Club invited the Corporate Giving Network to be a part of its ‘Member Mixer’. Fifteen nonprofits were able to have tables at this event with the aim to build brand awareness, attract donors and most importantly, secure new board members.

/in News /by Joy StephensThe Corporate Giving Network (CGN) held its April Learning@Lunch session on Thursday the 13th 2017 at Wellspring Family Services in Seattle. Thanks to our host Thomasina Schmitt.
The session focused on the highlights of the annual conference held on March 2 2017. The workshop was facilitated by CGN president Joy Stephens who led the conversation using five main topics as talking points: 1.) sponsorship 2.) employee engagement and workplace giving 3.) corporate philanthropy 4.) corporate social responsibility and 5.) cause-related marketing. With each topic the focus was to identify key points that the conference attendees agreed were helpful when doing their jobs of increasing their number of corporate donors and sponsors.
